Police Need Help Finding Hit and Run Driver

The Traffic Investigation Bureau on St. Thomas is asking the community’s assistance to identify the driver of a blue compact vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian on Friday, October 23 in the vicinity of Goat Street and Hospital Gade.

The victim, 51-year-old Oscar George Henry was crossing the street when an unknown vehicle traveling north struck him causing his body to travel 115 feet into the air before landing. The vehicle did not stop and the driver did not call for emergency assistance.

As a result of the initial investigation, the Traffic Bureau determined that the vehicle was a small compact car, blue in color. Police are asking the community’s assistance to find this vehicle which has damages to the front end, hood and possibly the windshield as a result of the accident.

Police are asking all mechanics, body repair shops and establishments who sell windshields to be on the lookout for a vehicle fitting this description. Police are also urging neighbors to be aware of a small blue vehicle with recent damages.
