Wanted Man Turns Himself in to Police

Phillip John Simmons George who was wanted by police in connection with a shooting that occurred on Dec. 12, 2007 in the Bolongo area of St. Thomas turned himself in to police at about 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The suspect has been sought by law enforcement since the incident and police issued a wanted poster to all media on Jan. 3.
George surrendered himself to the main police station on St. Thomas and was arrested and charged with Assault in the First Degree and Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm.
Bail was set at $100,000 and the suspect was remanded to custody.
George will appear in Superior Court Wednesday for Advise of Rights.
