Police Investigating Weekend Death

Police on St. Thomas are investigating the death of an individual found in a parking lot near El Encanto Bar on St. Thomas.
On Sunday at approximately 7:28 a.m. a citizen reported to police that a man was lying in the parking lot and seemed to be unresponsive. Police arrived on the scene and discovered a male individual lying face up and motionless. The initial police report did not indicate if there were any visible signs of trauma to the individual.
Emergency Medical personnel as well as the Medical Examiner were called to the scene. The individual was declared dead by medical personnel.
The identity of the 71-year-old victim is known to police however the name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
