Man Arrested For Assaulting Another

Police on St. John arrested 37-year-old Christopher Tronquet of Estate Bethany after he assaulted another male causing a deep gash on the side of the victims’ head that required medical attention. The assault stemmed from an argument between the two men when the victim cautioned the suspect who nearly ran over a scooter with his vehicle.

Police said the victim told them that on July 15 he was near Warfside Village in Cruz Bay when he saw the suspect almost run over a scooter with his vehicle. Although the scooter did not belong to the victim he told the suspect to be careful and an argument ensued. The suspect punched the victim, causing him to fall and hit his head on a table.

The victim was treated at the Myra Keeting Community Health Clinic and 15 stitches were needed to close the wound, according to medical staff. Christopher Tronquet was arrested the next day, on July 16 and charged with Assault Third Degree. His bail was set at $25,000 dollars and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
