Photo of Unidentified Burglar Released to the Public
April 19, 2012
Do You Know This Man?
Police on St. Croix are asking the community’s assistance to identify a person who wanted for several burglaries at businesses on the north shore of Frederiksted. The burglar was caught on surveillance video inside one of the businesses. The photo, which can be seen on the VIPD website, is that of a light complexioned young male.
At least two businesses including Coconuts on the Beach and Rhythms at Rainbow Beach were burglarized in April. The photo of the unidentified burglar was taken inside of one establishment.
Police are urging anyone who recognizes the person in the photo to call police or Crime Stoppers USVI. Police reminds the public that anyone harboring or assisting this suspect to evade police can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The police department commends businesses that take an active part in their own protection by installing cameras and video equipment. All businesses should maintain working video surveillance equipment in and around their businesses. This practice has been proven to deter and reduce crime.
