The Major Crimes Unit of the Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 on St. Thomas.

Preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 7:30 p.m. police were dispatched to the Nazareth area near the traffic light after receiving reports of a possible shooting. Officers arriving at the scene found the victim, a Black male, lying face down on the side of the road. The victim sustained what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the chest and did not appear to have any signs of life. He has been identified as Dorian Blake, a 20-year-old resident of Estate Nazareth.
