Police Commissioner announces the arrest of Nestor Colaire - St.Thomas

Police Commissioner Elton Lewis today, December 12, 2005 announced the arrest of Mr. Nestor Colaire, AKA Papa, on a warrant issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas Division. Mr. Colaire was arrested by members of the Major Crime Unit in St. Thomas as he returned from the State of Florida to answer the charges outlined in an Arrest Warrant issued by the Superior Court. The arrest took place at approximately 11:25 AM on Monday Morning.
Commissioner Lewis announced at a Press Conference on November 21, 2005; warrants had been issued for the arrests of individuals allegedly involved in the death of Mr. David Geiger and the injuries to his son, Nathan. Mr. Colaire was charged in a warrant signed by the Honorable Judge of the Superior Court Aubrey Thomas, with Attempted First Degree Murder, Accessory After the Fact and Arson. Mr. Colaire, a 18-year old male resident of Estate Bethany, St. John was arrested at the Alexander Farrelly Criminal Justice Complex by members of the Major Crime Unit at the time listed. He was taken into custody based on the Warrant, bail was set at $500,000.00; unable to post bail he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections in St. Thomas.

Any information given will be held in the strictest of confidence. Commissioner Lewis finally added, Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
