Police Investigating a Homicide on St. Thomas (REVISION)

ST. THOMAS – Detectives in the Major Crimes Unit are investigating a homicide; initially classified a Robbery in Progress that occurred in the St. Joseph and Rosendhal area of St. Thomas Friday, December 07, 2007. At 11:53am a resident called 911 and reported being robbed by three (3) black males. Officers arrived on the scene and discovered 60 year-old Robert D. Fletcher, a Caucasian male, unresponsive and suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound. The exact nature of the victim’s injuries and official cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s office. An investigation into this incident is underway and police are following several early leads. Police Chief Rodney Quearrd is asking anyone in the community with information that will assist investigators to contact the Major Crime Unit at 715-5534.
