Police Commissioner Announces the Arrest of Tullius Stewart - St. Thomas, USVI
November 24, 2005

Tullius Stewart Police Commissioner Elton Lewis today, November 24, 2005 announced the arrest of Mr. Tullius C. Stewart on a warrant issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas Division. Mr. Stewart was apprehended by members of the Major Crime Unit in St. Thomas at the Cyril King Airport. The arrest took place at approximately 6:19 PM.

Commissioner Lewis stated, "Several hours after announcing at the Press Conference on November 21, 2005, warrants had been issued for the arrests of Mr. Stewart and Mr. Renelle Lettsome by the Superior Court in St. Thomas. Subsequently, we were contacted by Mr. Stewart, who stated that he was in California and wanted to turn himself in to Police. As you may recall, Mr. Stewart was charged in a warrant signed by the Honorable Judge of the Superior Court Aubrey Thomas, with Grand Larceny and Possession of Stolen from an incident which occurred on or about October 23, 2005 in the Estate Grunwald area of St. John, USVI. Mr. Stewart a 29 year-old male resident of Gift Hill, St. John was arrested at the Cyril King Airport by members of the Major Crime Unit at the time listed. He was taken into custody, bail was set at $100,000.00; unable to post bail he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections in St. Thomas."

Renell Lettsome "Additionally, there is still an outstanding Warrant for the arrest of Mr. Renelle Lettsome, a 21-year old male of Estate Carolina; St. John. He is being charged with Murder in the First Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Arson and the Possession and Using a Dangerous Weapon during the Commission of a Crime of Violence, which occurred on October 29, 2005 in the Estate Grunwald Area of St. John, USVI. He is considered to be armed and dangerous."

If anyone knows where he maybe found, please contact the Major Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Bureau in St Thomas at (340) 715-5534 or 715-5546, the Crime Line at 777-8711 or Emergency 911. Also, Commissioner stated, "If anyone is found to be harboring Mr. Lettsome will be arrested and charged accordingly." Commissioner Lewis finally added, "Persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law."
