Police Commissioner Elton Lewis announces the promotional exercises for officers of the Virgin Islands Police Department, St. Croix District. Promotional exercises will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the Government House Ball Room. The program will begin at 10:00 a.m. During the promotional exercises, twenty-six (26) VIPD members will be elevated to the ranks of Police Captain, Police Lieutenant and Police Sergeant.

“Opportunities for advancement are a significant component of the Police Department’s retention and recruitment initiatives,” says Police Commissioner Elton Lewis. Commissioner Lewis has advocated promotional exams for VIPD members since assuming leadership of the department in 2003. Promotional exercises for VIPD officers were last held in 1996.
