Arrest on Domestic Violence

John Wisley Wayne Ellis On Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at approximately 2:42 AM, John Wisley Wayne Ellis, a 40 year old resident of #2-CC Constitution Hill, Christiansted was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery for an incident of domestic violence.

On or about 7:45PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2005, Mr. Ellis allegedly punched a female, threw her to the ground and after getting up he again punched the victim about the head and body. According to the victim, she had gone to her ex-boyfriend residence to deliver various items and as she was leaving, he stopped her. It was at this point during a verbal altercation by Mr.Ellis, he began to strike the victim about the head with his fists, threw her to the ground, picked her up, pushed her into the vehicle she drove and punched her again. After placing the victim, who is in her early 50's, she was taken to an area of St. Croix that was unknown to her. He then returned some time later back to the Constitution Hill and with the aid of others took her back to her place of residence.

The victim was taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital to be treated for injuries to the face and body. The victim suffered damage to the orbit of the left eye, abrasions to the neck and the left side of her body.

Mr. Ellis' bail was set at $1,000.00 as per the Bail Chart; unable to post bail he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections. Also, Mr. Ellis has an Outstanding Warrant for his arrest from the State of Texas on various charges, which will be addressed at the Advice of Rights Hearing.
