St. Croix, USVI – On February 25, 2023, at approximately 3:06 p.m. , members of the Virgin Islands Police Department extradited Mr. Joshawn Ayala from Columbus, Georgia where he was detained on a warrant.

He was transported from the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport and placed officially under arrest for the murder of Stacie Schjang and Arnold Jarvis who were killed on January 27, 2022, and February 4, 2022, respectively.

Joshawn Ayala, age 20, was charged with Murder First, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm during a Crime of Violence, Attempted Murder, Assault First, Assault Third, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, Reckless Endangerment in the First.

His bail was set at $1,000,000.00 (one million dollars) as per the Superior Court, however he was unable to post bond.

Mr. Ayala was transported to the John Bell Adult Correctional Facility after he was processed where he awaits his Advice of Rights Hearing, which is scheduled for Monday, February 27, 2023.
