St. Croix, USVI - On November 29, 2022 at about 9:55 a.m., an adult male called 911 Emergency Communication Center to report that his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, Jelani Ferdinand, was breaking into her apartment
through the kitchen window. Investigation into this matter revealed that Mr. Ferdinand was armed with a green pocketknife upon entry. A physical altercation occurred between both individuals inside the residence and continued outside the apartment
building. The victim stated that Mr. Ferdinand accused him of physically abusing his minor son. The victim sustained a laceration to his right index finger and a bruise to his left arm; however, he declined medical assistance. Mr. Ferdinand fled the
scene operating a blue Toyota Yaris.

Mr. Ferdinand, age 27, turned himself into police and was arrested without incident on December 1, 2022. He was charged with Burglary 1st and bail was set at $75,000.00. Unable to post bond, he was processed and remanded to John Bell Correctional Facility
pending his Advise of Rights Hearing.
