St. Croix, USVI - On Monday, November 28, 2022, at approximately 9:40 p.m., the Criminal Investigation Bureau Domestic Violence Unit was requested to travel to Harbor View Apartments for a Burglary 2nd DV. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who stated that her ex-boyfriend Maurice Liburd came to her residence, gained entry without permission, and assaulted her. The victim was in her bedroom when Mr. Liburd entered and wrestled with her to get her phone. He grabbed her by her hair and pulled her into the hallway pulling out some of her hair in the process. Mr. Liburd also destroyed and threw items at the victim before leaving the residence. The victim has a Restraining Order against Mr. Liburd.

Maurice Liburd

Mr. Maurice Liburd, age 46, turned himself into police on December 1, 2022 at 10:49 a.m. and was arrested without incident. He was processed and transported to John Bell Correctional Facility pending his Advise of Rights Hearing. Mr. Liburd was charged with Burglary in the second degree DV. No bail was set in this matter as per the Domestic Violence statues.
