Frederiksted St. Croix - On May 6, 2022, Detectives from the Economic Crime Unit launched an investigation into a reported credit card fraud. The investigation revealed Solly Lantigua, who was employed as a administrative assistant, obtained a patient’s credit card information over the phone under the pretense of collecting payment for a past due bill. After obtaining the patient’s credit card information she used it to make personal purchases online.

On September 1, 2022, Detectives from Economic Crime Unit executed an arrest warrant on 23-year-old Solly Lantigua. Ms. Lantigua was arrested and charged with One Count of Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Embezzlement by Clerks, Agents, Employees, Obtaining Money by False Pretense and Petit Larceny.

Ms. Lantigua was unable to post the $30,000 bail and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.
