Frederiksted, St. Croix – On August 28, 2022, 911 Emergency Call Center received multiple calls at 10:32p.m., of shots fired in the Paradise Mill Housing Community, Frederiksted. In addition, 911 received calls about a man down in Paradise Mills and another down in the Louise E. Brown Housing Community.

Upon officers arrival in Paradise Mills, they discovered an unresponsive male who was then transported to the Juan Luis Hospital via ambulance where he was later pronounced dead. The deceased was identified by his next of kin as 18-year-old Steven Hodge, Jr.

Officers traveled to the Louis E. Brown Apartments Phase 2 where the body of an unresponsive male was found lying on the sidewalk. The individual was later identified as 34-year-old Aurelio Rivera by his next of kin.

Both received multiple shots to the body.

Investigation revealed that Mr. Rivera ran from Paradise Mills to Louis E. Brown Housing Community where he dropped and succumbed to his injuries.
