U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – On Sunday, February 13, Super Bowl LVI will attract hundreds of fans territory-wide. To help keep motorists, passengers, and other road users safe, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is teaming up with the VI Police Department (VIPD) and the VI Office of Highway Safety (VIOHS) to remind football enthusiasts that Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.

This Super Bowl Sunday, be a team player and remember that impaired driving is illegal. As a designated sober driver, take your role seriously.

• If you are attending a party, enjoy the food and refrain from alcoholic beverages or other drugs.
• If someone you know has been drinking and tries to drive, take their keys, and help them get home safely. Even if they make a fuss in the moment, they will thank you later.
• Know the law: Refusing to take a breath test can result in arrest, loss of your driver’s license, and impoundment of your vehicle. Not to mention the embarrassment of explaining your situation to family, friends, and employers.
