Police Investigate Gas station Robbery

Police on St. Thomas were alerted to an active alarm at 9:43 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, which was immediately followed up by a call from a concerned citizen regarding a possible robbery at the Smith Bay Texaco Station on St. Thomas.

Police travelled to the scene where preliminary investigations indicated that a lone suspect entered the Smith Bay Texaco gas station armed with a handgun and robbed the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as a black male approximately 6’3” 18 to 25 years of age with long black curly hair wearing a black shirt and grey pants. The suspect covered part of his face with a black handkerchief and left the area on foot, according to police reports.

St. Thomas/St. John/Water Island Chief of Police Rodney Querrard urges anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone having knowledge of this robbery to contact the Confidential Crime Line at 340-715-5507 or the Investigation Bureau at 340-715-5522.
