Arrest Nets Unlicensed Firearm

Police on St. Croix executed a search and arrest warrant date Oct. 2 by Judge Julio Brady and arrested Luis Ortiz, 23, of Estate Glynn on Monday, October 6 at about 10 am. Ortiz was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm. Police had earlier received information that Ortiz was in possession of the gun.
Police confiscated a Glock handgun, two magazines and ammunition from Ortiz.
Ortiz was held on a $10,000 bail and placed in the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
