St. John Arson Suspect Turns Himself In

ST. JOHN, USVI – On May 26, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Steven A. Haluszka, age 57 of Quacco & Zimmerman, turned himself in to police after learning that he was wanted. He was arrested, charged with 2nd Degree Arson.

On May 8, at about 5:45 a.m., a fire was reported at Caravan Auto Parts, located in Pine Peace. The Virgin Islands Fire Service was able to extinguish the fire before major damage occurred. Haluszka was observed on video surveillance and identified as the individual who caused the fire.

Bail for Haluszka was set at $35,000, which he was not able to post. He was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
