Police Investigate Fast Food Robberies

Police on St. Croix are investigating two armed robberies that occurred at separate fast food restaurants on the island. The Subway restaurant in Estate Hogensborg was robbed on Saturday and the Mc Donald’s restaurant in Estate Orange Grove was robbed early Monday morning. No one was injured during the robberies.

Police were dispatched to the Subway restaurant at about 9:30 a.m. Friday. Witnesses said two armed suspects came into the restaurant. One suspect was described as a light complexioned Hispanic and the other suspect was described as dark skinned both had a medium build. They demanded money, which was given to them from the safe. Witnesses said the suspects left in an olive green Chevy Cavalier.

On Monday, September 17 at about 5:30 a.m. police were notified of a robbery at Mc Donald’s restaurant. Witnesses said two suspects wearing all black with black masks and gloves entered the restaurant as the employees were arriving for work before the store opened. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area.

Police do not believe that these two robberies are connected, but said all leads in these cases will be pursued. These robberies will be investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
