Three Arrested on St. Thomas

Police on St. Thomas arrested 26-year-old Jermaine Challenger and charged him with Aggravated Assault and Battery Domestic Violence after he struck his ex girlfriend in her face and head several times.

The assault occurred on May 28 and Challenger was arrested on June 12 at about 11:30 a.m. Police said Challenger also violated a restraining order that was placed against him by the victim. Challenger was held without bail, according to the domestic violence law pending further court action.

Police on St. Thomas also arrested 28-year-old Jeff J. Davis after he was identified on surveillance tape taking a Toshiba Tablet from Office Max without paying for the item. Police said the item was taken by Davis when he and two other men went into Office Max on February 6. Police arrested Davis on June 12 at about 3:30 p.m. Davis was held on a $25,000 bail and remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.

Akeel Owens was arrested on June 9 on St. Thomas. He was charged with Grand Larceny after he was identified as the person who stole a cellular phone from a victim the same day. The incident happened in Tutu Park Mall at about 7:20 p.m. Owens was arrested less than 15 minutes later.

He was placed on a $35,000 bail and remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
