Gunmen Rob Grove Place Business

Police on St. Croix are investigating a First Degree Robbery that occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4. Several people at the Cozy Corner Bar were robbed of cash and personal effects by at least five armed suspects dressed in all black.  

Police interviewed at least seven people who were in or near the establishment at the time. The witnesses said they saw five masked and armed men emerge from a bushy area near the eastern side of the bar. At least one suspect ransacked the bar and others demanded money from people in the area. The suspects fired several shots into the air while at the bar and when they fled the area on foot in the direction of the Lorraine Village Apartments. At least $500 was taken during the robbery.  

One victim ran from the robbery and sprained his foot and another said he was hit on the head with a gun by one of the suspects. No other injuries were reported.  

Police are asking the community’s help to identify the suspects in this robbery and also to identify anyone who has illegal weapons in their possession.
