Victim and Suspect Injured During Robbery

Police on St. Croix are investigating a First Degree Robbery that occurred on the morning of Thursday March 3 on Queen Street in Christiansted. According to the preliminary police report the suspects and the victim fought during the robbery and were injured.
Police were dispatched to the area at about 6:30 a.m. and observed two people fighting on Queen Street. Officers parted the fight and detained the men. During the police interview one man told police that two men walked up to him and asked for money. He told police that he refused to give them money and began to walk away from them. The victim said one man grabbed him from behind and the other suspect cut him on his forearm with a knife. The victim said he grabbed a bottle and broke it and used it to strike the suspects.
The victim and one suspect were transported to the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center for treatment. The case is being followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives. No arrests have been made at this time.
