Police Identify Burglary Suspect

Police on St. Thomas have released the name of the burglary suspect who died after being shot by an occupant of the home he broke into and attempted to burglarize. The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Jennison Toussant.
The incident occurred on Thursday, December 15 in Estate Frydendahl. When police arrived on the scene Toussant was unresponsive inside of the home; wearing mask over his face and gloves on his hands with at least one gunshot wound to his body. Medical personnel could not detect any vital signs on the suspect and he was later pronounced dead.
According to the initial police report the preliminary investigation determined that the suspect entered the home through a rear window. The suspect was masked, had on gloves and was armed with a firearm. The suspect confronted several occupants in the home and demanded that they give him money. During the confrontation, the suspect was shot by one of the occupants’ who is a firearm owner.
