Biography of Former Highway Safety Administrator Carmen Miray Marcano

Ms. Carmen Miray Marcano a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico – and raised on Croix is the new administrator at the Office of Highway Safety. With an MBA Finance and an MBA Human Resources and having worked in both the private and public sectors as a Teacher/ Trainer, Administrative Assistant, and Human Resources Specialist, she brings 19 years of professional experience to the administrative seat. Throughout her work experience, she has enjoyed managing preventive education federal grants through the Department of Education’s preventive programs, training quarry employees and visitors on MSHA’s laws and changes in regulations, screening and selecting employees to assure the best fit within the Department of Education, and ensuring comprehensive understanding of topics covered in trainings by employees, contractors, or stakeholders.

Ms. Miray is very excited about her new endeavor as she reaches out to the USVI community to ensure no more lives are lost on our highways.
